Katie’s Art Project is a nationally recognized 501(c)3 that sets out to connect children facing life-threatening illnesses with emerging and established artists through collaborative programs to create a lasting legacy through art. Through programs in music, Art, improv, dance and writing K.A.P., impacts the lives of children and artists throughout the country.
The vision of K.A.P. is to create tolerance, awareness, and sense of consistency at an otherwise scary time for children facing life-threatening illnesses. Our programming includes one-on-one artist to child creation of music, fine art & even food. We release songs written on ITunes after we have them professionally recorded and mastered. We release music videos and do an annual pop-up Art gallery showing where we show case artists and kids that have participated throughout the year. We do workshop series like our recent collaboration with Brooklyn Comedy Collective to bring Improv into the hospital and a one day cookie decorating workshop hosted by Tao Cares at LaRabida Children’s Hospital of Illinois and Maimonides Hospital of NY.
We look forward to continuing to expand our dance program and others with the help of partnerships like that with RIOULT.
